Privacy Policy
Plainbyte Lab apps (GridRename, GridResize, DupeSweep, PhotoSort, MetaScrub, PDFKit Lite, FolderDiff) are desktop applications made by Kusuma Putra ("we", "us"), an individual developer based in Indonesia. This policy covers all of them and this website. In short: your files stay on your computer, and we collect as little as possible. An app's own website may add details specific to that app.
Your files
The apps read your files, file names and metadata (such as the date a photo was taken) only on your computer, to do what you ask. File names, contents and metadata are never uploaded or sent to us or anyone else.
License verification
When you activate a Pro license or a bundle, and about once a week afterwards, the app sends your license key to Gumroad, Inc. (our payment and licensing provider) to confirm it is valid and has not been refunded. Gumroad receives the license key and the technical data any internet request includes, such as your IP address. A verified copy of the license is stored on your computer in the app's data folder. A bundle key is also stored in a folder shared by our apps on that computer, so you only enter it once.
Update checks
When an app starts, it checks GitHub (operated by GitHub, Inc.) for a newer version. This request contains your IP address and the app version, but no personal or file information.
Purchases
Purchases are processed by Gumroad under its own privacy policy (gumroad.com/privacy). We receive your name, email, country and order details so we can deliver your license and provide support. We never see your full card details.
Support emails
If you email us, we use your email address and message only to answer you, and keep the conversation for as long as needed to support you.
This website
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. It is hosted on Cloudflare Pages, which may keep standard access logs (IP address, browser, pages requested) under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent personal data.
- We don't show ads or use your data for advertising.
- We don't collect usage analytics or telemetry inside the apps.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal data we hold about you (purchase and support records) by emailing [email protected]. We may need to keep some purchase records where the law requires it, for example for tax purposes.
Children
Our apps are not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above and, for significant changes, announce it on this website.
